Since the early 90s, I’ve worked as a traveling writer and editor, and have published natural history, travel, environmental, business, and outdoor features on a wide range of topics. Some of my favorite pieces have been profiles of biologists, landowners and conservationists. My articles and photos have appeared in Texas Parks and Wildlife, The Houston Chronicle, Texas Highways, Texas Co-op Power Magazine, and dozens of other publications.
Writing also led me to leadership roles in several nonprofits, including the Association of Texas Professional Educators, where I now serve as Marketing and Communications Director. Past roles include CEO of the American Red Cross of Central Texas, VP of Development and Communications for Leadership Austin, and Associate Executive Director of Bat Conservation International.
A Texas native, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Master’s in Liberal Arts (with a concentration in English) from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
As a novelist, my favorite subjects are suspense and adventure – sometimes with a romantic twist. I’ve completed three novels and am planning my fourth. My first novel, Spirits of the Canyon, is available as an e-book on Amazon.
I enjoy traveling in Airstreams, and I love hanging out in Fort Davis with my husband, Texas photographer Bill Reaves, and our fuzzy critters Cricket and Max.
Every day, I look forward to exploring the world, word by word!
